1st Grade Teacher
I graduated from Troy High School in 1996. I then attended Temple College and went on to graduate from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor.
I received and associates degree in Computer Aided Drafting from Temple College. I have a Bachelor’s of Applied Science in Business Administration from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor. I then received and alternative teacher certification through Region 12.
I regularly attend staff development to help me learn and grow as a teacher.
I started teaching at Mays Elementary in 2005. I taught Kindergarten for 11 years and moved to first grade 4 years ago. I teach Reading, Writing, Math, Science and Social Studies.
Prior to becoming a teacher, I worked in the business world and quickly learned that I was meant to be a teacher.
I am married with 3 children. My oldest son is 21 and currently attending Texas State in San Marcos. Our other son is 15 and a Sophomore at Troy High School. Our daughter is 10 and in the 5th grade at Troy Elementary. We have lots of cats at our house as pets.
I don’t have much time for hobbies. When I do get some time, I love to be outside in my flower gardens. They don’t always look as good as I want them too because we are very busy.
I love to collect birdhouses. I have them all over my house as well as in my flower beds.
When I am not teaching, I love to spend time with my family. We visit San Marcos a lot because our oldest son is there. We also love to spend time at the beach. It is our favorite place to visit. Our son and daughter are involved in football and softball, so we spend a lot time at the fields. We wouldn’t want it any other way!!!
