Mays Elementary School History
Mays Elementary was built in 2001 and opened in the 2001-2002 school year. Mr. Lee Mays donated the land for the school to Troy ISD, and the school was named after his mother, Edna Bigham Mays, a long time teacher in the area. The new early childhood through first grade center was intially designed to open with a capacity for 300 students but core facilities will support upwards of 600 students long-term. Mays Elementary is located off IH-35 at 725 W. Main, Troy, Texas.
