This is my first year at Troy ISD. I am currently teaching a self-contained second grade class.
I previously taught for Temple ISD. I was at Raye-Allen Elementary from 2010 to 2021. While there I taught math and science in fouth grade for seven years, math and science in third grade for three years, and was self-contained second grade for one year.
Before I was hired with Temple, I was the Lead Toddler teacher for Waco Montessori School from 2003 to 2008. Our curriculum was similar to pre-Kindergarten in public schools.
My name is Leah Sullwold and I live in the Lorena area. I married my husband, Mike, on June 18, 1994. We met at Robinson Junior High and he is a Captain for Temple Fire and Rescue. We have a son, Logan, who graduated from Lorena High School in 2018. He is working on his Bachelors degree in cyber security and works in Waco for a cyber security company. We also have a daughter, Sierra, who graduated from Lorena High School in 2019. She is currently attending Texas A&M University for civil engineering. Last, but not least, we have our fur baby Jake. He is a 110 pound black lab who thinks he is lap dog.
When I am not at school or working at home, I enjoy spending time with my family. We enjoy riding bicycles, hiking, fishing, hunting, playing board games and dominoes, and watching movies. I also love to travel and see new places as well as try new food.
